http://www.dublinpride.orgDublin is gearing up for one of the most colourful celebrations in Europe as people come from across the world to celebrate Dublin Pride.

From the festival launch night on the 18th June, until the Parade Day on the 26th, Dublin’s Pride Festival aims to offer events for all tastes and age-groups.

More 5,000 lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender people are expected to turn out for the parade with thousands more taking part in the nine days of events leading up to the parade.

Belfast 2010Belfast Pride is Ireland’s largest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans festival appealing to audiences of over 10,000 people in the summer of each year.

They celebrate diversity with a week long celebration which take place at the end of July and feature a programme of events which we are sure appeals to even the most diverse range of tastes.

Belfast Pride host a wide variety of events, not just during Belfast Pride Festival Week, but also throughout the year. From ‘Battle of the Band’ events through to weekly fundraising events, we’re busy throughout the year.

Belfast Pride takes place from Saturday 25th July 2009 until 2nd August 2009.

The main Parade and Party in the Square will be on Saturday 1st August.

Belfast church's anti-gay ad bannedA press campaign with the headline "The word of God against Sodomy" run by a church and timed to spark a protest against Belfast's Gay Pride parade has been banned for being offensive.

The full-page press ad, which appeared in the Belfast Newsletter, was run by the Sandown Free Presbyterian Church and claimed that the previous year's Gay Pride parade in the city had included a banner stating "Jesus is a fag" and that the church was "obliged under God to publicly challenge the vices of this generation".

Homosexuality is referred to in the ad as an "abomination", "God's judgment upon a sin" and "a cause for regret that a section of the community desire to be known for a perverted form of sexuality".
