GaydarRadio will be putting 10 PURE ONE Flow internet-connected digital radios up for auction from Wednesday 23rd November to raise money for the National Aids Trust for World AIDS Day on 1st December 2011.
The internet-connected digital radios, which will be auctioned via eBay, have each been signed by a number of high-profile stars from a variety of backgrounds including George Michael, Factor judges, Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland, JLS, Paul O'Grady, Stephen Fry and Steps.
Further high profile mystery celebrities have also been confirmed and their identities will be revealed in the coming days. Bidding closes on World AIDS Day on 1st December when the winners will be notified.
Additionally, the GaydarRadio presenters will also be pushing the ‘Be Aware, Act Aware’ theme of this year’s World AIDS Day with a number of other strands of activity, including:
· Online video messages on how best to act, and be, aware of AIDS
· Testimonials of those who aren’t necessarily HIV positive, but are aware of the needs of others
· Testimonials of what the National AIDS Trust does, and messaging encouraging listeners to donate
· Once a show read outs on GaydarRadio directing listeners to the online auction
· An article on GaydarRadio.com linking through the auction
Robin Crowley, Head of GaydarRadio, comments: “Each of our PURE radios has been signed by a different celebrity so there should be at least one which appeals to everyone. All of the money raised from the auction is going directly to the National AIDS Trust. We’re urging people to dig deep and show their support for this incredible charity whose work, both on the front line and behind the scenes, has a direct positive impact on the lives of those who are HIV+ in the UK.
