The Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton – Sunday 4th March 2012 – Europe’s largest and best known gay choir are wrapping their supportive arm around community HIV charity Positive East.

The London Gay Men’s Chorus are teaming up with good friend Champagne Charlie to put on a one-off show called Positive Sounds. The show will combine LGMC’s usual measure of musical excellence, with warmth, humour, and style as they tell stories of love through the ups and downs of every relationship.

LGMC’s chairman, Alisdair Low, said: “We are delighted to be performing in support of Positive East. Our missions align perfectly; we both challenge social preconceptions and contribute to an enriched society.” Funds raised from ticket sales will support Positive East’s HIV testing service.

Celebrity Signed Digital Radios Auctioned by GaydarRadioGaydarRadio will be putting 10 PURE ONE Flow internet-connected digital radios up for auction from Wednesday 23rd November to raise money for the National Aids Trust for World AIDS Day on 1st December 2011.

The internet-connected digital radios, which will be auctioned via eBay, have each been signed by a number of high-profile stars from a variety of backgrounds including George Michael, Factor judges, Gary Barlow and Kelly Rowland, JLS, Paul O'Grady, Stephen Fry and Steps.

Further high profile mystery celebrities have also been confirmed and their identities will be revealed in the coming days. Bidding closes on World AIDS Day on 1st December when the winners will be notified.

Lady Ga GaLady Gaga topped an online poll, by gay equality charity Stonewall, that asked supporters which celebrity had done the most to tackle bullying this year.

The singer, backed by 46 per cent of online supporters, is a firm favourite with lesbian, gay and bisexual people as one of the biggest public figures to actively speak out against the discrimination gay people face. She has also recently announced that she wants to meet Barack Obama to discuss new legislation to beat bullying. Lady Gaga’s poll victory follows hot on the heels of her nomination for Hero of the Year at the 2011 Stonewall Awards.

Ben Cohen, ex-rugby star and also aStonewall Award nominee, scored a close second (41 per cent) for his dedication in tackling bullying and homophobia in sport. Ben set up theBen Cohen StandUp Foundation dedicated to raising awareness of the long-term, damaging effects of bullying.

Elton JohnElton John has urged people to support the Kaleidoscope Trust campaign against homophobia around the world. The performer applauded Kaleidoscope for confronting the worsening situation facing gay men and women in many countries and for offering ‘real support and solidarity’ to locally-based campaigners.

He described the Kaleidoscope Trust as ‘a remarkable group…with global reach and a simple goal’, on the side of people who wanted to live and to love who they chose.

Writing on the Huffington Post website, Elton John said that when he was born ‘it was a crime to be gay in Britain, but I survived through the battles to see the day when I could have a civil partnership and a son and be accepted by all but a small circle of bigoted hold-outs. It didn't happen by magic. It happened because gay people organised and stood together and appealed to the decency and empathy of the heterosexual majority.’

ROWETTA MANCHESTER HEADS FOR SPAIN!Fresh from changing her surname to promote her home city, singing star Rowetta, famous for wooing Simon Cowell on the X Factor and her time with the Happy Mondays, is heading to Spain to represent Manchester and the UK in a singing competition called ‘Gayvision’.

Gayvision brings together singing talent from across Spain as they compete for the title – with last year’s winner going on to being picked as an entrant for Eurovision 2012.

Now, with Gayvision into its second year and following on from Manchester being awarded the accolade of most gay friendly city in the world by Expogays, the Business Expo based in Torremolinos, Malaga, Rowetta has been asked to participate and fly the flag for the City and UK’s LGB&T community on Saturday October 15th.
