Betty White’s Birthday turned 91 on January 17, 2013, and author Mike Pingel is celebrated her Brithday with the release of his newest book,  Betty White Rules the World” book The Ultimate (and Unauthorized) Guide to Television's Grande Dame.

MPs have voted by a majority of 225 in favour of the new Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill.

The Bill will extend the legal form of marriage to lesbian, gay and bisexual people and permit religious denominations to celebrate such marriages should they wish.

MPs will get the chance to vote on the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill for the first time today, Tuesday 5 February.

Three senior Conservatives have made a late appeal to their party to drop any opposition to plans to allow gay marriage in England and Wales. Chancellor George Osborne, Foreign Secretary William Hague and Home Secretary Theresa May wrote to the Daily Telegraph saying "a substantial majority" of Britons back gay marriage.

An advert that appeared on Grindr and Gaydar and other dating sites and apps over the weekend has been removed following protests on Facebook and via Twitter.

The advert, under the heading ‘Got the cool gene?’, promoted a test that could determine whether an individual had a genetic mutation which makes HIV infection less likely. Matthew Hodson, of the gay men’s health charity GMFA, was one of many who protested. Hodson commented, “With thousands of UK gay men becoming infected with HIV each year, it seems particularly irresponsible to be suggesting to gay men that they may be immune.”
