Gay Jazz Singer Covers with Catherine d'Oex French Song

Written by

Gallavin is currently working on his forthcoming and melancholic album “So Sad the Songs”, (due for October 27th, 2014). The first single, La chanson des vieux amants, is out now.  Gallavin sings this legendary song from Jacques Brel in duet with Catherine d’Oex.

Gallavin is a new kind of jazz singer. Since his debut album Mad about the Boy, he highlights his determination to be an artist with a political and poetic voice by producing a first album that raises the influence of homosexuality in Jazz History. He places himself beyond the stereotypes of Crooner and Diva and gives to jazz standards written by gay authors – such as Cole Porter, Billy Strayhorn or Noël Coward – their original intentions with a rare freedom that forms and defines his inspirations and artistic world.

Catherine d’Oex has travelled through western Switzerland venues for the last 10 years. Defender of freedom and justice, she sings Love to those you are willing to listen by covering popular French varieties. As a one-woman show, she regularly produces herself with musicians and comedians. Since her appearance on Gallavin’s music video, My Baby Just Cares for Me, she has never left him, and is determined to be part to his world.
